History of Mullum Mullum Anglican
There has now been an Anglican ministry in the Ringwood area for 140 years: in 1879 the first St Paul’s building was built in Mt Dandenong Road, near where Daisey’s Hotel now stands. The second was in Pratt Street from 1915, then in Ringwood Street from 1924. The church moved to its present site in 1970, and the redevelopment and expansion that resulted in the present building was completed in 2018.
The parish in its present form represents an amalgamation of the St Paul’s Ringwood and Djerrnong congregations, which took place in 2009. Both of these, however, in their turn were amalgamations of previous worship centres: St Paul’s with Emmanuel Parish in Park Orchards, and Djerrnong, an amalgamation of Christ Church Heathmont with Holy Trinity Ringwood East.
Mullum Mullum Anglican has a history of serving the community of Ringwood and beyond in a variety of ways. Committed to a ministry of both word and action, Mullum Mullum has sought to share the gospel through its regular church services, events and ministries, as well as its many activities both on and off site. These include the free Monday lunch, involvement in HICH (Heathmont InterChurch Help), Mainly Music, St Paul’s Players, support of local and overseas missions and groups for all ages. We look forward to continuing to serve God in our local community for many years to come.
